The alpha compressor plugin is
the software reincarnation of our famous mastering compressor. It gives
you a painstaking emulation of the sound and features the hardware is
known and popular for – programmed by the code experts from Brainworx.
But
not only the final stage of mastering will profit big time from this
ultimate dynamics processor. In fact, the compression section alone is
such a useful tool that we have decided to include a dedicated mixing
version with a reduced interface. You might want to use this on every
single track of your DAW...
The alpha compressor plugin is
available for PC and Mac in 32 and 64 bits. The following formats are
supported: AAX, RTAS, AS, TDM, VST2.4, VST3, AU and VENUE.

Features
True Emulation
The compression behavior and the sound character of the hardware have been recreated in a complex process to match the analog model as close as possible.
Oversampling
In order to achieve the best results also on lower sample rates, the alpha compressor plugin uses an increased internal resolution.
Mousewheel Support
Setting parameters with the mouse can be pretty annoying – for this reason the controllers of the plugin can be moved with the mouse wheel easily.
Integrated M/S Matrix
As an alternative to standard stereo operation you can process the mid and side signals, opening up completely new options for your work!
Feed Forward & Feedback
The type of compression can be chosen for each channel individually, making two different compressors available at the push of a button.
Auto Fast
A switchable semi automation that always provides perfect attack and release on the basis of the values set by the user – even with complex material.
Audio Filter
The Niveau Filter is specialized in forming the tonal characteristics of a track very effectively without much of an effort.
Sidechain Filter
The alpha compressor features on-board frequency selective compression. This avoids complex routings in favor of an effective workflow.
Parallel Compression
Also available directly on the unit: the direct and the compressed signal can be blended in any desired relation by simply turning the mix controller.
Signal Matrix
The direct and the processed signal can be monitored individually or together by the push of a button in each channel (left & right or mid & side).
Soft Clip Limiter
Tames short and loud transients and smoothens the signal peaks, providing additional headroom and loudness if needed.
Warm Mode
Instead of the switchable Transformer circuit of the hardware, the alpha plugin offers a different kind of nice and effective signal coloration.
